Ingredients

  • 2 cans whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 to 10 cloves garlic
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tsp capers
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves
  • olive oil
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Saute onion and garlic in olive oil in a large pan.
  2. Add canned whole tomatoes (retaining juice) and cook until soft.
  3. Add capers, salt, pepper, basil, and the remaining tomato juice.
  4. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes.
