Ingredients

  • 3 qt. popped corn
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/4 c. molasses
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. melted margarine

Instructions

  1. Use fresh popcorn and spread out on a greased cookie sheet.
  2. Combine sugar, molasses, salt, and melted margarine in a saucepan.
  3. Cook the mixture to about 290°F or a hard-cracked stage.
  4. Pour the hot syrup over the popcorn and spread thin, making sure all the popcorn is covered.
  5. Allow to cool and then break into pieces.
