Ingredients

  • 12 lb. apples, unpeeled
  • 2 c. vinegar (red or white 5% acidity)
  • 8 to 10 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Cut the apples into slices.
  2. Remove the core and stem, and cut off any bad spots.
  3. If the apples are sweet, use 8 cups of sugar; if tart, use 10 cups of sugar.
  4. Cook the apples until most of the liquid is out, similar to the process with dried apples.
