Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. dry beans
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. diced potato
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 3/4 c. canned tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Instructions

  1. Cook beans in water with salt until done.
  2. (Beans should be soaked for several hours to hasten cooking process.) Add remaining ingredients and cook about 30 minutes longer.
  3. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
