Ingredients

  • 1 package chocolate pudding and pie filling (not instant)
  • 1/2 cup unsifted flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/3 cup oleo
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the contents of the pudding package with the unsifted flour and baking powder.
  2. Melt the oleo (butter or margarine).
  3. Remove from heat and add sugar.
  4. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
  5. Blend in vanilla and pudding mixture.
  6. Stir in nuts, if desired.
  7. Spread in a greased 8-inch square pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 minutes.
  9. Cool in the pan, then cut into bars.
