Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour (self-rising can be used)
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 tsp. almond extract

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°.
  2. Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour until it resembles small peas.
  3. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons water over flour, mix it with a fork.
  4. Form a ball; divide in half.
  5. Pat each half into a rectangle, 12 x 3 inches, on an ungreased cookie sheet, about 3 inches apart.
