- Strip cream out of cookies and set aside.
- Crush cookies to coarse crumbs and set aside.
- Dissolve unflavored gelatin in cold water and let stand for 10 minutes.
- Add hot water to the gelatin mixture and stir; let cool.
- Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Add sugar to the egg whites and mix with an electric mixer.
- Fold in the cooled gelatin mixture into the egg whites.
- Whip the whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the whipped cream into the egg white and gelatin mixture.
- Add vanilla extract to taste.
- Layer half of the crushed cookie crumbs into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Pour the mixture over the crumbs in the pan.
- Top with the remaining crushed cookie crumbs.
- Freeze overnight.
- Serve the dessert frozen.
