Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. melted butter
  • 2 plus c. flour

Instructions

  1. Mix lukewarm water, yeast, and sugar; let stand for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add milk, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture and stir well.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until the dough is no longer sticky.
  4. Cover the dough and let rise in a warm place for 2 hours.
  5. Divide the risen dough into two equal balls.
  6. Shape into loaves and place into bread pans or on a cookie sheet.
  7. Let the shaped dough rise until almost doubled in size.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes until golden brown.
