Ingredients

  • 3/4 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Melt butter in an 8-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine self-rising flour, sugar, and about half of the milk in a bowl. Stir until the dry ingredients are moistened.
  3. Add the remaining milk and stir until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring.
  5. Sprinkle drained fruit evenly over the batter without stirring.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
