Quick Food Processor Pie Dough

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter (frozen)
  • 2 to 2 1/2 tablespoons ice water

Instructions

  1. Position the knife blade in the food processor bowl.
  2. Add the flour and salt to the food processor.
  3. Cover and process, pulsing 3 or 4 times until combined.
  4. Cut the frozen butter into 6 pieces and add to the flour mixture.
  5. Pulse 5 or 6 times until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  6. With the processor running, slowly add ice water, a teaspoon at a time, until the dough forms a ball and leaves the sides of the bowl.
  7. Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  8. Roll the dough to 1/8-inch thickness and fit into a 9-inch pie plate.
