Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 slices bread
  • syrup

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a 10-inch skillet or griddle over high heat until just hot enough to sizzle a drop of water.
  2. Meanwhile, beat the egg and milk with a fork in a pie pan until well blended.
  3. Dip bread slices in the egg mixture, turning to coat evenly.
  4. Place the coated bread slices in the hot skillet.
  5. Reduce heat to medium and cook until lightly browned, then turn and brown the other side.
  6. Serve with syrup.
