Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb.(1 c.) ground meat
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. ground apples
  • 1 c. ground raisins
  • 1 lemon, ground rind too
  • 1 orange, ground rind too
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Simmer ground beef, water and salt until meat is cooked.
  2. Then add all other ingredients and simmer over low heat for 45 minutes. Makes about 2 quarts.
  3. Can be canned or frozen.
  4. Makes 2 large pies.
