- In a buttered 9-inch square pan, sprinkle 1/4 cup nuts over the bottom.
- In a heavy saucepan over low heat, melt the unsweetened chocolate with the sweetened condensed milk.
- Cook and stir until the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir well.
- Stir in vanilla wafer crumbs and 1/2 cup nuts until combined.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
- Top with the remaining 1/4 cup nuts.
- Chill for 4 hours or until firm.
- Cut into squares and serve.
- Store loosely covered at room temperature.
