Ingredients

  • 24 graham cracker squares
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Arrange graham cracker squares in a single layer in an ungreased jelly roll pan.
  3. Combine brown sugar and margarine in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  4. Boil and stir for one minute, then remove from heat.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the caramel mixture over the crackers and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until bubbly.
  9. Allow to cool slightly, then cut into 2 1/4 x 1 1/4-inch bars.
