Quick Tomato Aspic

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. unflavored gelatin
  • 1-1/4 c. tomato juice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Few grains cayenne pepper
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 4 Tbsp. catsup
  • 1 Tbsp. onion juice
  • 3 Tbsp. milk, vinegar or lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Soak gelatin in cold water for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat tomato juice to a boil and add to the soaked gelatin, stirring until dissolved.
  3. Add salt, cayenne pepper, catsup, onion juice, and milk, vinegar or lemon juice.
  4. Chill until the aspic is firm before serving.
