Renee'S Pastry Wrapped Gouda
A savory pastry featuring melted Gouda wrapped in flaky crescent dough, perfect for entertaining or as a cheesy appetizer with a hint of mustard flavor.

- Cut the Gouda cheese in half to form two circles.
- Divide the can of crescent dough in half.
- Set one half of the dough aside.
- Lay the two rectangles of dough next to each other on a baking sheet.
- Pinch the perforations to seal the dough together.
- Place one half of the cheese in the center of the dough.
- Spread 1 1/2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard over the cheese (optional).
- Fold in the corners of the dough and pinch the edges shut to seal the cheese inside.
- Brush the wrapped pastry with beaten egg.
- Repeat the process with the other half of the dough and cheese.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
