Ingredients

  • 1 14 oz pkg caramels
  • 1/2 c margarine
  • 1 14 oz Eagle Brand milk
  • 1 Box 18 1/4 or 18 1/2 oz pkg german chocolate cake mix
  • 1 c coarsely chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt caramels and margarine.
  3. Remove from heat, add milk, and mix well.
  4. Follow package directions for cake mix; pour 2 cups of batter into a 9 x 13 inch pan that has been sprayed with Pam. Bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Spread caramel mixture over the cake; spread remaining batter over the mixture. Top with pecans.
  6. Return to oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
