Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream Crisco, butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each.
  3. Alternately add flour and milk, mixing well after each.
  4. Add flavoring and mix again.
  5. Pour mixture into well-greased and floured tube or long loaf pan.
  6. Bake at 325° for approximately 2 hours or until done.
  7. (Recipe calls for 1 1/2 hours, but I find that it takes 2 hours.)
  8. This is a good cake and big too!
  9. Start in cold oven.
  10. Do not preheat.
