Ingredients

  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 1 small bunch celery
  • 1 gal. chicken broth
  • 2 double batches cornbread
  • 4 to 6 biscuits
  • 5 slices bread
  • 2 tsp. sage

Instructions

  1. Chop finely the onion and celery.
  2. Mix together and cook until tender in a small amount of broth.
  3. Warm the remaining broth. Finely crumble the cornbread, biscuits and bread, stir in the sage and pepper, add onion mixture and approximately 3 quarts warm broth.
  4. Mix well.
  5. (This should be juicy.)
  6. Bake, covered, at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
  7. Stir well and add more broth if needed. Bake uncovered 20 minutes or more until browned to taste.
