Salty Peanut Chews

Ingredients

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1/3 c. melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 c. miniature marshmallows
  • 1 (10 oz.) bag peanut butter chips
  • 2/3 c. white Karo syrup
  • 2 c. crispy rice cereal
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. salted peanuts

Instructions

  1. Mix together first three ingredients and bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° for 15 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle marshmallows over cake.
  3. Put back into oven until they are puffy.
  4. Combine peanut butter chips, Karo syrup and vanilla in a large saucepan and heat until chips are melted.
  5. Add peanuts and rice cereal and stir to coat.
  6. Drop topping by spoonfuls onto puffy marshmallows.
  7. Cool completely and cut into 2-inch squares.
