Ingredients

  • 1 can kraut, drained
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 strips bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook kraut and water about 10 minutes.
  2. Fry bacon in a pan until crispy.
  3. Add chopped onion to the drippings and cook until the onion is glazed.
  4. Add flour to the mixture and stir well.
  5. Pour the water from the kraut into the gravy mixture and add sugar.
  6. Add the kraut to the mixture.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Let the mixture come to a boil; if too thick, add more water.
