Ingredients

  • 2 cans green beans
  • 4 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 Tbsp bacon grease
  • 2 Tbsp prepared mustard
  • 4 Tbsp vinegar
  • 6 to 8 strips bacon
  • 1/2 cup water from the beans

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon.
  2. Remove bacon from grease.
  3. Pour off excess grease, leaving at least 4 tablespoons.
  4. Add brown sugar, mustard, vinegar, and water to the grease.
  5. Heat the mixture until dissolved.
  6. Add the beans to the mixture.
  7. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  8. Serve at room temperature.
  9. Crumble bacon over the top of beans when ready to serve.
