Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh pork sausage links
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 medium cooking apples
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook sausage links in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat for 10 minutes until no longer pink.
  2. Drain well and discard juices.
  3. Cut sausage links crosswise in half.
  4. Return sausage to the skillet.
  5. Core apples and cut each into 8 wedges.
  6. Add apple wedges to the skillet with sausage.
  7. Sprinkle with brown sugar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  8. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender.
