Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 tsp. powdered milk
  • 4 to 4 1/2 c. flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm water.
  2. Add melted shortening and beaten egg.
  3. Add flour, powdered milk, and salt.
  4. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Cover and let rise until doubled.
  6. Work dough down and roll to 1/2‑inch thickness.
  7. Brush with butter, sprinkle cinnamon mix, and roll up lengthwise.
  8. Cut into 12 (2 1/2‑inch thick) rolls. Place on greased tray and let rise until doubled.
  9. Bake at 400°F for 20 to 25 minutes.
  10. Brush with powdered sugar glaze.
