Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. raisins
  • 2 c. figs
  • 2 c. almonds
  • 3 Tbsp. honey
  • 2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Follow Solomon's advice for making good boys and you will have a good cake.
  2. Cream butter, sugar, and honey until well blended.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Sift flour.
  5. Measure and sift 4 1/2 cups together with dry ingredients.
  6. Cut raisins, figs, and almonds; set aside after rolling in flour.
  7. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to creamed mixture.
  8. Blend and beat well.
  9. Fold in fruit and nuts.
  10. Turn batter into greased tube pan or rectangular pan.
  11. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 35 to 40 minutes.
  12. Cool slightly and remove from pan.
