Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice
  • 1 gallon water
  • 2 ounces nuts
  • cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon saffron
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 ounces butter

Instructions

  1. Stir rice into boiling water and cook until well done, approximately 2 to 3 hours.
  2. Add sugar and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
  3. Stir in butter and saffron, and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  4. Pour into cups and decorate with cinnamon and sliced almonds.
