Siapo Dough
Siapo dough produces soft, flavorful rolls ideal for stuffing with fillings. Its sweet, yeasty aroma and tender texture make it a delightful treat for breakfast or snacks.

- Mix yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and let it activate.
- Combine flour, sugar, warm milk, and oil in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture and stir well.
- Knead the dough just as for bread until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the risen dough and knead again to remove air bubbles.
- Shape the dough into long rolls, resembling sausages.
- Cut the rolls into slices and flatten each slice.
- Place a spoonful of filling on each flattened dough piece and fold up the edges to enclose the filling.
- Pinch the edges together to seal.
- Form each filled piece into a ball.
- Cut small circles from waxed paper, approximately 2 inches in diameter, to sit the rolls on.
- Place the waxed paper circles and the rolls on a rack inside a steamer.
- Steam the rolls for 15 to 20 minutes until cooked through.
