Sicilian Style String Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. green beans
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 c. grated Italian cheese
  • 1/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 c. onion (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Use snap and string beans; boil beans in salted water until tender.
  2. Drain.
  3. Saute garlic (and onion if used) in olive oil until golden brown.
  4. Add beans.
  5. Combine bread crumbs and cheese; add to beans.
  6. Cook 5 minutes on low heat and serve hot.
  7. Yields 6 servings.
