Simple Pot Roast

Ingredients

  • 3 to 3 1/2 lb. chuck roast
  • garlic powder to taste
  • 1 c. beef stock
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle roast with garlic powder to taste.
  2. In a Dutch oven kettle, brown roast on all sides in a little oil.
  3. Add beef stock. Mix dry onion soup mix with soup and pour over roast.
  4. Cover and cook on low heat until tender.
  5. You may have to add a little water or beef stock as it cooks.
  6. You may add whole onions, carrots and mushrooms while the meat is cooking.
