Tips & Substitutions

For added depth of flavor, consider browning the stew meat in a skillet before adding it to the slow cooker. You can substitute the golden mushroom soup with cream of mushroom soup or even a homemade equivalent for a fresher taste. If you prefer a thicker stew, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with water and stir it in during the last hour of cooking.

Serving Suggestions

This slow cooker stew pairs beautifully with rice or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce. Consider serving a side salad, such as Supreme Bean Salad, to add a fresh crunch to your meal. For a heartier option, you can also serve it alongside mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables to complete the dinner.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm the stew in a saucepan over medium heat or in the microwave until heated through. If the stew thickens in the fridge, add a splash of broth or water during reheating to restore the desired consistency.
