Small Flower Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 13/16 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 2/3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In the food processor bowl, add the egg, sugar, and vanilla.
  3. Start the processor to mix and then gradually add the flour.
  4. Let it mix into a smooth paste, which will happen fairly quickly.
  5. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 45 minutes.
  6. Unwrap the candy and place between 2 sheets of parchment paper. Gently tap the candy with a rolling pin to break into little pieces.
  7. Preheat oven to 350F.
  8. Roll out the dough, not to thin, on a floured work surface.
  9. Use a cookie cutter to cut out the cookies. Use a small flower shaped (or other shape if you like) cookie cutter to remove the center of the cookie.
  10. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  11. Drop 1 tsp. of crushed candy into the hole in the center.
  12. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden, turn the oven off, leave the cookies in the oven for another 5 minutes.
