Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening (part butter)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Mix
  2. thoroughly
  3. shortening, sugar
  4. and
  5. eggs.
  6. Sift together and
  7. stir in
  8. flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Then roll balls in mixture
  9. of
  10. 2
  11. tablespoons
  12. sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon. Place 2
  13. inches
  14. apart
  15. on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown
  16. but still soft.
  17. Temperature: 400°, bake 8 to 10 minutes.
  18. Yields 5 dozen 2 inch cookies.
