Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 c. buttermilk (room temperature)
  • 5 c. flour (all-purpose)
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3/4 c. Crisco

Instructions

  1. Combine yeast and warm water; let set 5 minutes.
  2. Add buttermilk to yeast mixture and set aside.
