Instructions

  1. Prepare your favorite cake mix according to the package instructions.
  2. Grease and flour two layer pans, one 8 x 1 1/2-inch and one 9 x 1 1/2-inch.
  3. Divide the batter evenly between the two pans.
  4. Bake as directed on the cake mix package.
  5. Place the 8-inch layer for the head of the snowman and the 9-inch layer for the body on an aluminum foil-covered cardboard.
  6. Frost the layers, joining them together, and sprinkle with flaked coconut.
  7. Place a large chocolate wafer cookie on each side for earmuffs.
  8. Use semi-sweet chocolate pieces for buttons, gumdrops for eyes, eyebrows, and nose.
  9. Use rope licorice for the muffler and red shoestring licorice for the mouth.
