Tips & Substitutions
For an extra crisp texture, consider layering a few more sheets of phyllo pastry. If you're out of light brown sugar, you can substitute with a mix of granulated sugar and molasses. To save time, you can use pre-sliced apples and pears. This pie also works well with a mixture of other seasonal fruits, so feel free to experiment with your favorites.

Storage & Reheating
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the pie in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes until warmed through. Avoid using the microwave, as it can make the phyllo pastry soggy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make this pie ahead of time?
Yes, you can prepare the filling a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Assemble the pie just before baking to keep the phyllo pastry crisp. If you prefer, you can also assemble the pie and freeze it unbaked; just bake it straight from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
What can I substitute for phyllo pastry?
If you can't find phyllo pastry, you can use a pie crust instead. Store-bought or homemade, a traditional pie crust will work well as a base. Alternatively, consider using puff pastry for a different texture, but keep in mind that baking times may vary slightly.
Is this recipe suitable for a vegan diet?
You can easily make this recipe vegan by substituting the melted trans fat-free spread with a plant-based butter or margarine.
