Instructions
- Bake the yellow cake according to the package directions and let it cool.
- Mix the crushed pineapple and sugar together and cook for 20 minutes.
- Poke holes on top of the cooled cake and pour the pineapple mixture evenly over it.
- Allow the cake to cool completely.
- Prepare the vanilla pudding by mixing the pudding mix with 3 cups of milk until thickened.
- Pour the vanilla pudding over the pineapple-topped cake.
- Spread Cool Whip evenly over the pudding layer.
- Refrigerate the cake overnight to set.
- Sprinkle 3/4 cup of shredded coconut on top of the Cool Whip.
