Sour Liver

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. liver
  • 1 Tbsp. fat
  • dash of paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. each: wine and vinegar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 clove
  • 1 onion
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • salt and pepper as desired
  • 2 c. water

Instructions

  1. Cut liver into small pieces.
  2. Cook onion in 1 tablespoon fat until clear in appearance.
  3. Add liver; stir frequently for 3 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over meat mixture, stirring for 3 more minutes.
  5. Add salt, pepper, paprika, water, wine, vinegar, bay leaf, clove and ginger berries; cook slowly for 10 minutes.
  6. Goes well with noodles, rice and potatoes.
