Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 6 cups flour
  • margarine
  • cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Mix the sourdough starter, warm water, vegetable oil, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Gradually add flour one cup at a time and knead until a firm dough forms.
  3. Allow the dough to rise until doubled in size, about 1 to 2 hours.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  5. Spread margarine over the dough and sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Roll up the dough tightly to form a log and cut into individual rolls.
  7. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
