Ingredients

  • 1 c. grits (regular, not quick)
  • 4 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 2 tubes garlic cheese
  • 2 whole eggs
  • milk
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • corn flake crumbs
  • butter

Instructions

  1. Cook grits, boiling water and salt until they are done (about 5 minutes and not watery).
  2. Remove from heat and add margarine and cheese.
  3. Beat eggs in 8 ounce measuring cup and fill cup to the top with milk.
  4. Add this to grits mixture.
  5. Add sugar to mixture. Cover with corn flake crumbs; dot with butter and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
  6. Let set 5 to 6 minutes before serving.
  7. Makes 13 x 9 x 2-inch dish.
  8. (Can be doubled using larger pan.)
