Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 sticks cinnamon
  • 6 large pears, peeled, halved and cored
  • orange zest

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, combine white wine, orange juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Add pear halves.
  3. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes until pears are translucent.
  4. Remove cinnamon stick; cool slightly.
  5. Garnish with orange zest.
  6. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
