Ingredients

  • 4-6 lb beef brisket
  • allspice
  • 5 beef bouillon cubes

Instructions

  1. Place the beef brisket, fat side up, on the rack of a broiler pan.
  2. Fill the pan with water.
  3. Sprinkle allspice on the side of the brisket.
  4. Bake the brisket for 6 hours at 275°F.
  5. Wrap the brisket in foil and chill.
  6. Pour the juice into a jar and refrigerate.
  7. Slice the beef into 1/4 inch slices across the grain and place in a baking dish.
  8. Remove excess fat from the chilled juice.
  9. Heat the juice and beef bouillon cubes, then thicken with cornstarch.
  10. Pour the gravy over the sliced meat.
  11. Bake the dish for 1 hour at 350°F.
