Ingredients

  • 13 oz. can mandarin oranges
  • 6-inch cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 tsp. whole cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 oz. package orange gelatin
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Drain the mandarin oranges, reserving the juice, and add water to make 1 3/4 cups of liquid.
  2. Place the liquid in a saucepan; add the cinnamon stick, cloves, and salt, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Let the mixture steep for 10 minutes, then strain out the spices.
  4. Dissolve the orange gelatin in the hot water mixture, then add 2 cups of cold water and lemon juice.
  5. Chill until the gelatin is partially set.
  6. Fold in the drained mandarin oranges and chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the mixture into a mold and chill until firm before serving.
