Ingredients

  • 1/4 p split peas
  • 1 medium potato thickly sliced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 2 Tblsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander

Instructions

  1. Bring 1st 4 ingredients to a boil.
  2. Cook, partially covered over low heat until split peas are soft (appr. 30 min.). Skim off foam.
  3. Drain reserving cooking liquid
  4. Remove bay leaf
  5. Add rest of ingredients
  6. Puree
