Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1 c. farina
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a deep pan and add farina, cooking until golden, stirring constantly.
  2. Stir in chopped nuts.
  3. Reduce heat. Meanwhile, bring water and sugar to a slow boil.
  4. Cook for 3 minutes. Pour syrup slowly over the farina, stirring with a wooden spoon until the halva is slightly thickened.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes.
  7. Shape with individual molds or with a spoon.
  8. Place on large platters and sprinkle with cinnamon.
