Ingredients

  • 1 small angel food cake
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 9 oz. Cool Whip
  • 1 pt. strawberries
  • 1 tsp. red food coloring
  • 3 1/2 c. sweet milk
  • 1 c. sour cream

Instructions

  1. Break the angel food cake into bite-sized pieces and place in a serving dish.
  2. Cream together sour cream, cream cheese, and softened Cool Whip until smooth and well combined.
  3. Beat the pudding mix with sweet milk until the mixture is smooth and thick.
  4. Mix the pudding and milk mixture with the cream cheese mixture until thoroughly combined.
  5. Pour the cheese and pudding mixture over the cake pieces in the dish.
  6. Cover and refrigerate to chill.
  7. Partially thaw the strawberries, then heat them quickly in their juices with red food coloring and sugar to taste.
  8. Add enough cornstarch mixed with water to the hot strawberries to thicken the mixture to medium consistency, then remove from heat immediately.
  9. Allow the strawberry mixture to cool completely.
  10. Pour the cooled strawberries and their juice over the layered dessert before serving.
