Sweet and tender strawberry shortcakes with fluffy biscuits, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream, perfect for a light dessert or special occasion treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/3 cups Bisquick mix
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup chilled whipping cream
  • Sliced strawberries, sweetened

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Mix Bisquick, sugar, melted margarine, and milk until a soft dough forms.
  3. Gently shape the dough into a ball on a cloth-covered, Bisquick-dusted board.
  4. Knead the dough briefly.
  5. Roll the dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with a 3-inch cutter dipped in Bisquick.
  6. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet until golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  7. Beat chilled whipping cream in a chilled bowl until stiff.
  8. Split the shortcakes in half.
  9. Spoon sweetened strawberries between the halves and on top.
  10. Top with whipped cream before serving.
