Ingredients

  • 2 lb. string or green beans
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup sliced natural almonds
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the green beans in a 12-inch skillet or a 4-quart saucepan. Bring 1 inch of water to a boil.
  2. Add the green beans and simmer for 10 minutes. Drain the beans and transfer them to a bowl.
  3. In the same pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the sliced almonds to the melted butter.
  5. Cook until the almonds are golden brown.
  6. Spoon the almond and butter mixture over the drained beans.
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve.
