Stuffed Pears Milanese

Ingredients

  • 12 canned pear halves
  • 6 oz. powdered sugar
  • 8 maraschino cherries, chopped very fine
  • 1/2 lb. shelled, toasted almonds, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 c. dry sherry

Instructions

  1. Blend powdered sugar, chopped maraschino cherries, and finely chopped toasted almonds together.
  2. Fill each canned pear half with the almond mixture.
  3. Place the filled pears in a baking dish.
  4. Pour dry sherry over the pears.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes or until the pears are tender but not too soft.
  6. Serve hot.
