Ingredients

  • 1 cup suet, chopped fine
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup sour milk (with 1/2 t baking soda) or 1 cup sweet milk (1 T baking powder)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon clove

Instructions

  1. Mix ingredients together.
  2. Steam 2 hours over a hot fire.
