Ingredients

  • 2 c. shelled walnuts
  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine the brown sugar, white sugar, and sour cream in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly.
  3. Continue cooking without stirring until the mixture reaches 238°F on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Add vanilla and walnuts to the mixture.
  6. Stir until the nuts are thickly coated and the coating loses its gloss.
  7. Spoon the nuts onto wax paper and separate them with forks.
  8. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
